Meet Dr. Priya Jadeja
Fellowship-trained breast surgical oncologist Dr. Priya Jadeja specializes in the surgical treatment of breast cancer and benign breast disease, as well as image-guided breast procedures and high-risk breast care. For Dr. Jadeja, her work goes beyond treating a diagnosis. She is passionate about helping her patients feel informed, supported, and empowered throughout their care.
With a career that combines technical skill, problem-solving, patient education, and long-term relationships, Dr. Jadeja brings both expertise and empathy to every patient she treats.
A Career in Breast Surgical Oncology
Dr. Jadeja completed her breast surgical oncology fellowship in 2017 and has been in practice for nine years. She was initially drawn to surgery because of the combination of science, problem-solving, technical skill, and the opportunity to make a tangible difference in someone's life.
Breast surgery felt like the perfect fit because it allows her to build long-term relationships with her patients while helping them through some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Today, her work includes treating breast cancer and benign breast disease, performing breast biopsies and other procedures, operating in the OR, seeing postoperative patients, and helping patients navigate the many decisions that come with a breast diagnosis.
Every Day Looks a Little Different
There isn't really a "typical" day for Dr. Jadeja. Some days are spent in the office while others take place in the OR. She may see patients who have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer, perform image-guided procedures, care for postoperative patients, or spend time educating and advocating for patients throughout their treatment.
No matter what they day looks like, she spends most of it on her feet. Office days typically run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., while OR days can stretch from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
For a surgeon who spends nearly the entire workday standing and moving, comfortable footwear is essential.
Why Dr. Jadeja Chooses Calzuro
Dr. Jadeja first discovered Calzuro clogs during her surgical residency at Cleveland Clinic, just before starting a notoriously challenging trauma surgery rotation at MetroHealth.
She found a pair of yellow Calzuro clogs and quickly discovered that the bright color and comfortable design made those long a little more enjoyable.
"They made me feel like I was 'walking on sunshine' during a really hard month. Super cheesy, but I loved them and I've been rocking them ever since 2014!"
Comfort remains the number one reason she continues to wear them. She also appreciates that Calzuro clogs are easy to clean and practical for the OR. During residency, being able to autoclave her shoes was especially important, making that functionality an added benefit.
Favorite Calzuro Style
Dr. Jadeja wears the Classic Clogs without holes and currently rotates between Lavender and Bubblegum. After years of wearing her original yellow pair, she's thinking about adding another yellow pair to her collection.
"I miss them!"
Treating the Whole Patient
For Dr. Jadeja, breast surgery is about much more than the surgery itself. Her goal is to make every patient feel informed, supported, and empowered to make decisions about their own body.
"A breast cancer diagnosis can be incredibly scary, and I try to bring both expertise and empathy to the process."
Above all, Dr. Jadeja wants her patients to know they can depend on her throughout their care. As she puts it, "I'm here to treat all of them, not just their breasts."
