Calzuro shoes are the brainchild of Gianfranco Bidoia, the original owner and CEO of Bihos SRL in Padova, Italy. He recognized the need for a new type of footwear that would meet the changing needs of the medical profession by offering healthcare
workers clean, comfortable footwear. In 1983, he used an innovative co-polymer
rubber compound to create a product that is sterilizable, autoclavable,
antistatic, and remarkably comfortable. Medical professionals everywhere
embraced the new innovation, and Calzuro has since expanded its distribution
worldwide


Wynne Family Ownership

Terry Wynne started the U.S. distributorship in 1987. His wife, Jenifer, joined the business in 1996. It all began with a chance meeting between Wynne and Bidoia at an annual hospital convention in Germany. Bidoia was looking for sales and distribution of his company’s new footwear. Wynne was
seeking new opportunities for his specialty medical device distributorship. The two collided, and it was the beginning of a partnership that has lasted for more than four decades.

In 2023, Ryan Wynne acquired Calzuro, marking the second generation of Wynne ownership.  Having grown up in the business, Ryan is committed to the same high level of customer service and values that his parents instilled in the company from its inception.     

Today, the Calzuro brand is trusted by medical professionals, comfort seekers, and creators throughout Italy, the U.S., and around the globe. The Calzuro brand has grown well beyond the original clog, thanks in large part to the many new styles and colors that have been added to the selection.
