Calzuro clogs are more than just footwear; they're an investment in comfort and functionality. For professionals who rely on these clogs day in and day out, keeping them in excellent condition is important. Proper care not only ensures their longevity but also maintains the quality that makes Calzuro a trusted brand in medical and professional footwear. In this blog, we'll provide you with essential maintenance tips to help you get the most out of your Calzuro clogs.
1. Regular Cleaning: The Foundation of Care
Cleaning your Calzuro clogs regularly is the first step in ensuring their
longevity. The good news is they're designed to be easily cleaned!
Here's some ways you can do it:
Remove Loose Debris: Before cleaning, tap your clogs together or use a soft brush to remove any loose dirt or debris.
Wash: All Calzuro styles are machine washable and can be bleached.
- Hand Wash or Machine Wash: Calzuro clogs are easy to clean. You can either hand wash them with mild soap and water or place them in a washing machine with a gentle cycle. We recommend putting them in a Calzuro Laundry Bag!
- Autoclave: Calzuro Classic styles are unique for medical professionals as they can be sterilized in the autoclave.
- Commercial Dishwasher: For culinary use, Calzuro Classic styles can be cleaned in a commercial dishwasher.
Daily:
- Warm water & dish soap
- Disinfectant/cleaning wipe
Weekly/Monthly:
- Washing Machine
- Commercial or Regular Dishwasher
- Autoclave
- Washer Disinfector
*Classics are sterilizable in autoclave up to 134°C/275°F, washable in washing machine up to 90°C/194°F and in dishwasher up to 70°C/158°F with mild soap/dish soap.
Air Dry: After washing, allow your clogs to air dry naturally. Avoid direct sunlight or high heat sources as they can cause the material to deteriorate.
2. Storage Matters: Protecting Your Investment
How you store your Calzuro clogs when they're not in use can significantly impact their lifespan.
- Store in a Cool, Dry Place: Keep your clogs in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Use Shoe Trees: Investing in shoe trees is a great idea. They help maintain the clogs' shape and absorb moisture.
3. Rotation is Key: Give Them a Break
If you wear your Calzuro clogs daily, consider rotating them with another pair of shoes. This allows each pair to air out and reduces the wear and tear on a single pair.
4. Replace Insoles When Needed: Restore Comfort
Over time, the insoles of your clogs may wear out, reducing their comfort and support. We recommend washing your insoles once a week & replacing your insoles after 52 washes!
5. Follow Manufacturer Guidelines: Respect Product Specifics
Lastly, always follow any care and maintenance guidelines provided by
Calzuro. These guidelines are tailored to your specific clogs and can help you maintain their quality. You will find cleaning & care tips in the packet that comes with your Clogs.
